It’s National Nurses Week, and perhaps more than ever before, it’s important to express gratitude and support for these exceptional caregivers.
As our healthcare providers continue to battle the coronavirus pandemic, nurses have been among the many essential workers on the frontlines – both supporting those affected, and those with other care needs. They are often spending the most amount of time at patient bedsides, are drawing blood and other samples, and are caring for the severely ill. They are also looked to for emotional support not only from patients, but from their loved ones.
Nurses are truly at the heart of healthcare.
As we say “thank you,” it’s also important for us to show our support for these healthcare heroes. Here are a few ways you can support nurses during this time and beyond, according to NursesLabs:
- Check to see how they’re doing – especially by video chat (not just text)
- Talk about everyday things – not work (or COVID)
- Order them food or essentials to take mundane chores off their list
- Don’t forget to keep showing appreciation long after Nurses Week ends
Whether through an e-card, a video call or a hot meal, let’s thank our nurses for all of their hard work and dedication to providing exceptional care and care coordination – and show them our support during these trying times.
As we wrap up National Nurses Week, Updox sends our gratitude to nurses everywhere. Thank you for all that you do.
